    • After plugging in, allow 2-3 hours for the unit to cool down before placing food inside.
  • Temperature Control:
    • Located in the lower right-hand corner.
    • Settings range from "1" (warmest) to "6" (coldest).
    • Recommended initial setting is "4" for home/office use.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Recommended upon installation and each time the unit is defrosted.
    • Unplug the freezer, remove food and storage basket.
    • Wash the inside with a damp warm cloth soaked in a solution of 2 tablespoons baking soda to a quart of lukewarm water.
    • Wash the storage basket with a mild detergent solution.
    • Keep the door gasket (seal) clean for efficient operation.
    • Clean the outside with mild detergent and warm water.
    • Dry all parts with a soft cloth.
  • Defrosting:
    • Defrost when frost on freezer walls is 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick for efficient operation and minimum energy consumption.
    • Choose a time when frozen food stock is low.
    • Procedure:
      1. Remove frozen food and place in a cooler.
      2. Unplug the freezer (green power light should be off).
      3. Remove the drain plug from the inside floor.
      4. Place a shallow pan outside the drain outlet to collect defrost water, checking it occasionally to prevent overflow.
      5. Clean the interior.
      6. Replace the drain plug.
      7. Plug the unit back in (green light on).
      8. Adjust temperature control knob to "3".
      9. Allow the cabinet to cool for one hour before returning food.
    • Helpful Hint: Leaving the door open and pouring warm (not boiling) water on ice/frost can speed melting.
    • CAUTION: Do not use boiling water (may damage plastic parts) or sharp/metallic instruments (may damage cooling coils and void warranty) to remove frost. Scraping ice can damage the unit.
  • Vacation Time:
    • Short vacations (less than three weeks): Leave the freezer operating.
    • Long vacations (several months): Remove all food, unplug the power cord, clean and dry the interior thoroughly. Leave the door slightly open (or removed) to prevent odor and mold growth.
  • Moving the Freezer:
    • Unplug the freezer.
    • Remove all food.
    • Securely tape down all loose items inside.
    • Remove rollers to prevent damage.
    • Tape the doors shut.
    • Keep the freezer in an upright position during transportation.
  • Energy Saving Tips:
    • Locate in the coolest area of the room, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
    • Allow hot foods to cool to room temperature before placing in the freezer.
    • Avoid overloading the freezer.
    • Wrap foods properly and wipe containers dry to reduce frost build-up.
    • Do not line freezer storage bin with aluminum foil, wax paper, or paper toweling as it interferes with cold air circulation.
    • Organize and label food to reduce door openings and search times. Remove multiple items at once and close the door quickly.
