What to do if Magnum Paint Sprayer pump cycles but doesn't build pressure?
    • V
      vjamesAug 19, 2025
If your Magnum Paint Sprayer pump cycles but doesn't build pressure, consider these possibilities: * The pump may not be primed, so prime it. * The inlet screen might be clogged, or the suction tube isn't immersed in paint. Clean the inlet screen and ensure the suction tube is at the bottom of the paint pail. * The paint pail could be empty. Refill it and re-prime the sprayer. * The suction tube might be leaking. Tighten the suction tube connection and check for any cracks or leaks. * The pump check valves could be dirty or damaged. Clean or replace them. * The Spray-Prime/Drain Valve could be worn or obstructed with debris. Check for debris and replace if worn, ensuring it's torqued to 185 in-lbs (21 N•m).

How to fix inconsistent spray pattern with Magnum 232735 Paint Sprayer?
    • S
      Steven HenryAug 21, 2025
If your Magnum Paint Sprayer's spray pattern is inconsistent or leaving stripes, it might be because: * The pressure is set too low. Increase the pressure by turning the Pressure Control Knob clockwise. * The spray tip is worn beyond the sprayer's capability. Replace the spray tip.

Why won't my Magnum 232735 motor run?
    • H
      Heather HoltAug 27, 2025
If your Magnum Paint Sprayer's motor isn't running, even when plugged in and switched on, there might be a few reasons: * The pressure could be set too low. Try turning the Pressure Control Knob clockwise to increase the pressure. * The electric outlet may not be providing power. Test the outlet with another device or try a different outlet. Also, check and reset the building's circuit breaker or replace the fuse. * The extension cord or the sprayer's electric cord might be damaged. Inspect them for any breaks or damage, and replace if necessary. * The paint might be frozen or hardened in the pump.

Why is my Magnum 232735 Paint Sprayer motor overheating?
    • M
      Melissa TateAug 28, 2025
If your Magnum Paint Sprayer motor is hot and runs intermittently, it could be due to several reasons: * The vent holes in the enclosure might be blocked. Ensure they are clear of obstructions and overspray, and that the sprayer is open to air. * The extension cord could be too long or not heavy enough gauge. Replace it with a suitable cord. * The electrical generator being used might have excessive voltage. Use a generator with a proper voltage regulator, ensuring it provides 120VAC, 60 Hz, 1500 Watts. * The sprayer might be operated at high pressure with a very small tip, causing frequent motor starts and excessive heat. Decrease the pressure setting or increase the tip size.

Why is my Magnum 232735 dribbling paint?
    • D
      Deborah CastroAug 30, 2025
If your Magnum Paint Sprayer pump cycles, but paint only dribbles or spurts when the spray gun is triggered, consider the following: * The pressure might be set too low. Increase the pressure setting by turning the Pressure Control Knob clockwise. * The spray tip could be clogged. Unclog the spray tip. * The InstaClean fluid filter might be clogged (XR models only). Clean or replace the InstaClean fluid filter. * The spray gun fluid filter might be clogged or installed backward. Clean or replace the gun fluid filter.

    • M
      Maria BarkerSep 2, 2025

Select a smaller spray tip. * The spray tip might be worn out. Replace the spray tip. * The extension cord might be too long or not heavy enough gauge. Replace the extension cord. * The spray gun fluid filter might be clogged. Clean or replace the spray gun fluid filter. * The InstaClean fluid filter might be clogged (XR models only). Clean or replace the InstaClean fluid filter. * The inlet screen might be clogged. Clean debris off the inlet screen.

Why does my Magnum 232735 Paint Sprayer trip the circuit breaker?
    • A
      Amy FoxSep 4, 2025
