Installation Instructions
1. Remove base refractory.
2. Remove the screws that attach the base pan to the
burner and lift the base pan out of the appliance.
3. Remove the burner bracket screw. Slide burner to the left
and lift out of the appliance. Be careful not to damage the
pilot sense rod.
4. Remove the exhaust bafe and replace with contem-
porary exhaust bafe. See Figure 2.
5. Remove the orice using a 3/8 in. wrench and replace
with correct orice for gas type. See BTU specication
table on page 1.
6. Adjust the air shutter and install contemporary burner
assembly. See BTU specication table on page 1.
7. Install contemporary base pan assembly.
Note: Install insulation board behind false back for
CKRUBY35 kit.
8. Install false back. See Figure 2.

9. If installing the glass refractory kit, refer to the installa-
tion instructions that came with the kit and install now.
10. If installing logs, refer to the instructions with the kit
and install now.
11. Install glass media. When using multiple media col-
ors, mix them prior to installation. For optimal per-
formance and ame appearance, ensure it is spread
evenly. See Figure 3.

CAUTION: Place only one thin layer of media over the
burner and base pan when using Propane gas. Excess
media on burner and base pan may cause sooting. One
thin layer of media may require less media than indicated
in the above media chart.
