Why won't my Makita Lawn Mower start?
- Mmarissa94Aug 3, 2025
Several factors can prevent your Makita Lawn Mower from starting. The throttle chock may not be in the correct position, so adjust it. The fuel tank could be empty; if so, refill it. A dirty air cleaner element can also be the culprit. Additionally, check the spark plug: ensure it's tightened to 25 – 30 N•m, the wire is properly connected, the gap between electrodes is set to 0.7 to 0.8 mm, and that the plug isn't defective. If the carburetor is flooded, remove the air cleaner element and pull the starter rope until it clears. In case of a faulty ignition module, contact the service agent.
