Air filter
An air filter is installed in the vehicle to purify the air for combustion.
The intervals at which the air cleaner requires servicing depend on the specific operating conditions en
countered. Clogged air filters may cause black smoke and reduce power.
A check should be made from time to time to see that the fastening elements securing the air cleaner to the
intake manifold seal the connection tightly. Any ingress of unfiltered air is liable to cause a high rate of cy
linder and piston wear.
