ROUTE THE LINE SET
Route the line set to avoid traps and kinks.
Minimize the amount of line set exposed on the roof.
CONNECT THE LINE SET
Cut the line set to the correct length.
Purge line set with dry nitrogen while brazing.
Line set shutoff valves on the ice machine must remain
closed and be protected from heat during brazing.
PRESSURE TEST AND EVACUATE LINE SET AND
CONDENSER
Lineset shutoff valves must remain closed until pressure
testing and evacuation are complete.
Pressure test @ 150 psi (1000 kPa) for a minimum of 15
minutes.
Minimum evacuation level is 500 microns.
Pressure test the line set and condenser with 150 psig of
dry nitrogen. Add nitrogen at the line set shutoff valves
located at the back of the ice machine head section.
Complete the pressure test, verify no leaks are present
and remove the nitrogen from the system before
connecting the vacuum pump.
OPEN LINE SET VALVES
You will not hear refrigerant flow when the valves are
opened. Refrigerant will not flow until the ice machine is
started and the solenoid valve opens.
All valve caps must be reinstalled, tightened and leak-
checked to assure no refrigerant leakage exists.
Counterclockwise opens all valves.
