Player and it provides the superb sound quality that the SC7S2 and MA9S2 deserve. It follows the
legendary SA1 (1999-2002) and CD7 and incorporates key features from both, retaining the excellent
SACD playability and customised digital filter technology for CD players – first seen in the CD7.
In addition, because Marantz more than ever is totally committed to unsurpassed quality reproduction
we gave the new SA7S1 an unsurpassed treatment in terms of extreme engineering and the utmost
attention to detail.As you would expect from such a prestigious piece of work, it features a solid base
cabinet, large ring transformer, and copper plating.
NEWLY DEVELOPED ORIGINAL DISC LOADING MECHANISM
As proven by our digital filtering technology: when the market is short in top-quality solutions our
engineers develop their own. at’s why we developed the Marantz mechanism SACDM-1 (Super
Audio Compact Disc Mechanism 1). Its die-cast construction uses micro precision metals to guarantee
the best and cleanest data read-out ever, even on the high speed rotating SACDs. e metal tray is
coated with a non-reflecting material to prevent light reflection, which may trouble the laser light. And
thanks to the solid-as-a-rock metal body there is no chance of vibration influence. Only supreme, pure
digital signal will emerge to feed the digital filters and the D/A converters.

REFERENCE TECHNOLOGIES
CHOKE INPU T TOPOLOGY
In the power supply section, the choke inpu t topology is adopted to drastically
reduce rectier harmonic noise and to reduce the inuence of distortion from
the mains power network. This system is especially suitable for a c ontrol
amplier in which ver y small signal amplication occurs.
SHOTTKY DIODES
A Shot tky diode is a special type of diode with a ver y low forward-volt age
drop compared to normal diodes. This lower voltage drop translates into
higher s ystem efciency.
Shot tky diodes have very f ast signal handling, can easily stay higher
temperat ures and are sensitive very low voltages.
LINEA R VOLUME CONTROL
Linear volume control offers minimal cross talk with a very precise volume
adjustment over a r ange from 0 dB to 100 dB w ith a gang error less than +/-
0.5 dB.
BTL
A BTL is a possibility t o use t wo ampliers as one monor aul amplier. This
conguration, in theor y quadruples the output power deliver y to the speaker
and of fers better control over it leading to a very c ontrol, dy namic and open
music reproduction.
WBT
Very high quality sp eaker terminals made by German speaker terminal
specialist WBT who has over 20 years of experience in pro duction of best
sounding speaker terminals.
MARANTZ IN NOVATIVE D2F – DYNAMIC DIGITA L
FILTERING
Some audio companies focus on sound modication b y selecting and
customising electric al components for the analogue par t of the player but they
have only limited knowledge of digital ltering an d have to use standard
solutions – which Marantz believes to be sub-st andard for a genuine
audiop hile player. Tha t’s why Marantz has invested extensiv ely in gaining
expert knowledge into this crucial part of a CD player during CD playback.
The Marant z Digital Filt er eliminates out-of-band noise, reflecting into a better
S/N ratio, dynamic r ange, and various ot her charac teristics. There is no group
delay, and the player of fers flat frequency character istics. Filters of three
types are prov ided, and because each affords a distinctive sound, users can
switch to t he desired lter for playback suiting the disc or their listening mood.
GMR – GI AN T MAGNETIC RESISTOR
The Giant Magnetic Resis tor is a t echnolog y compare able wit h an optical
coupler, makes it possible to separate two section of a product galvanic.
The GMR outperforms the optic al coupler when it comes to high fr equencies.
This big b enet is used in this player to separate the digital section fr om the
analogue one and this even on the ground level.
No high frequency distortion to the sensitive audio signal; no influence to the
power for the audio s tages.
FLOATI NG CONTROL BUS SYSTEM
A Marantz own communication sys tem to connect pre- or integrated
ampliers ov er a dedicated bus line to enable sy nchronized operations. The
units are working as master and slave – t he master unit controls the other s.
F.C.B.S. c an be us ed for a powerful bi-amping or a multichannel surround
setup.
