[ To set the timer with MANUAL timer operation — 2-]
When a CD is to be played by the timer, the track number to
be played can also be specified.
A. Press the UP or DOWN button @/ {0
flashing on the display in step 7 above.
B. The display changes to flashing "MANU". Press the
MEMO button 48/[i] while “MANU” is flashing.
C. The display changes to “SEL”. Now select the source to
be played by the timer, CD, in this example, by pressing
the CD function button @y
D. When “NUMBR? is displayed, Enter the track number with
the UP or DOWN button 1. Pressing the UP bution
increases the number from + — 2 3..., and pressing the
DOWN button decreases it from 99 — 98 — 97...
When the desired track number is displayed, press the
» MEMO button 60/[1]. if the MEMO button is not pressed,
track number 1 will be set in 8 seconds.
* The track number can be specified directly using the
numeric buttons [3] of the remote control
E. The display changes to flashing “ONCE”.
Select ONCE or DAILY by pressing the UP or DOWN
button @4y (10.
The ONCE operation executes the set timer operation only
once, after which the memary is cleared
The DAILY operation executes the set timer operation
avery day,
After selecting “ONCE” or “DAILY”, press the MEMO
button fi.
The ONCE or DAILY operation is set automatically in 8
seconds even if the MEMO button is not pressed.

* The set timer programs can be cancelled temporarily
when they are not required.
4. If the TIMER indicator is displayed, press the TIMER
button (9/[8]. When the timer program contents start to be
displayed, press the TIMER button again.
2. The TIMER indicator disappears from the display, and the
timer program will not be executed,
The timer program can be re-activated by pressing the
TIMER button 43/{8) again to display the TIMER indicator.
If both PRG-1 and PRG-2 have been set, it is not possible
to temporarily cancel only one of them.
Checking Timer Program Contents
Use the following procedure to check the timer program
contents.
The check is possible even when the power of the unit is
OFF.
1. Press the TIMER button @/[8}. If no timer program has
been set, The TIMER indicator flashes for 2 seconds and
then disappears. If any timer programs have been set,
their contents are displayed in the following order, taking 2
seconds for each step.
2. “TIMER PRG-1" is displayed.
3. "13:50 ON” or “2:30 PM”
(an example of ON time display)
4. "16:30 OFF" of “4:30 PM"
(an example of OFF time display)
5. "CD 11" (example when CD track No. 11 is to be played)
6. "DAILY" or “ONCE” (depending whether PRG-1 is DAILY
or ONCE)
7. “TIMER PRG-2” (not displayed when PRG-2 has not
been set}
8. The information on PRG-2 is displayed in the same way as
in 3 to 6 above
9. The display returns to the previous display of clock or
function.

Clearing Timer Program (remote contro! only)
Use the foliowing procedure to clear the contents of a timer
program.
4. Press the TIMER button [8].
2. When the timer check operation starts, press the “O/CL”
numeric button [4] while the contents of the timer program
to be cleared, PRG-1 or PRG-2, are displayed.
Sleep Timer Setting (remote control only)
The sieep timer function allows the power of the unit to be
turned OFF automatically after a specified period. of time.
1. While the power is ON, press the SLEEP button [12],
2, Flashing “SLEEP” appears on the display.
3. Within 5 seconds of step 2 above, press. the MEMO button
Ti). The display changes to flashing “SLEEP 10”,
4. If the SLEEP button is pressed again within 5 seconds of
step 3 above, the displayed period changes in the
following order 10 + 20 30 > 40» 50 — 60-+ 90>
120 -» OFF —> 10...
5. When the desired period is displayed, press the MEMO
button I.
“SLEEP” is now lit up continuously on the display.
* To check the remaining time of the sleep timer after it has
been activated, press the SLEEP button [2. The time
period will be displayed.
* To change the sleep timer period after the sleep timer has
been activated, proceed as follows.
A, Press the SLEEP button [3, then immediately press the
MEMO button i)
B. Set the sleep timer period again following steps 2 to 5
above.
* To cancel the sleep timer operation, use the following
procedure.
A. Press the SLEEP button [1 then, within 5 seconds,
press the “O/CL” numeric button [4]. This cancels the
sleep timer.
