Cold Starting Procedure
This Trimmer is equipped with a fuel primer and a
choke system. To start a “cold” engine properly,
perform the following procedure:
1. Pump the primer bulb at the bottom of the carburetor
until fuel can be seen flowing through the fuel
return line to the fuel tank.
(Flowing fuel should be almost clear, not foamy
or full of bubbles.)
2. Move the choke lever to the closed (
) position.
And move the control lever to the high speed side
approximately half in. from the low speed side.
3. Grasp the throttle lever then push the fast-idle
lock button. Release your hand with holding the
fast-idle lock button to lock the fast-idle.
4. Pull the starter grip.
5. After the engine starts, squeeze and release the
throttle lever to return it to the idle position. Then
move the choke lever to the open (
) position.
If the engine stops running before you move the
choke lever to the open (
) position:
Go ahead and open the choke, pull the starter grip
with the throttle trigger positioned at Fast-idle
position.
CAUTION
• Do not pull the Starter rope all the way
out.
