An external thermostat could be causing the issue, so verify its operation. The unit might be off due to a high or low pressure limit; if so, reset the pressure switch. Finally, there could be an internal component failure or loose wiring, so check for these issues.

Why does my Marvair MAA1018A-MAA1060A cycle on high/low pressure limit?

  If your Marvair Air Conditioner is cycling on high or low pressure limits, it could be due to a loss or restriction of airflow. Check the blower assembly for proper operation and look for airflow restrictions, such as a dirty air filter. Inspect the blower motor and condenser fan. Another cause could be a restriction in the refrigerant circuit, so check for blockages, especially in the filter drier and capillary tube assembly. If the unit was recently serviced, refrigerant overcharge could be the problem; in this case, evacuate and recharge to factory specifications. Lastly, a defective pressure control could be the issue; check the limit cutout pressures, noting that the control should actuate at approximately 60 PSIG (low pressure) and 650 PSIG (high pressure).
