What to do if my MasterCraft 299-3118-4 motor won't start?

First, ensure the power cord is plugged into a grounded outlet and the ON/OFF switch is in the I (ON) position. Check that the extension cord, if used, has the correct wire gauge and isn't too long. If the motor's thermal overload protection has tripped, turn off and unplug the compressor, wait for it to cool down, and then plug it back in after at least 5 minutes. Also, verify that a fuse hasn't blown or a circuit breaker hasn't tripped. If the air tank pressure exceeds the preset pressure switch limit, the motor will start automatically when the tank pressure drops below the cut-in pressure. Clean or replace the safety valve if it is stuck open. For loose electrical connections or a defective motor, capacitor, or safety valve, have the compressor serviced by a qualified technician.
