Important Technical Specifications:
- Capacity: 6 litres (for the inner pot).
- Power Supply: Properly grounded 240V/50Hz power receptacle is required.
- Safety Devices: Nine safety mechanisms are built-in to ensure reliability:
- Open-and-Close Lid Safety Device: Prevents opening the lid while under pressure.
- Pressure Control Device: Automatically maintains the correct pressure level.
- Pressure Limiting Valve: Releases air automatically if pressure exceeds preset temperature. Overfilling can clog this valve.
- Anti-Block Cover: Prevents food from blocking the Pressure Limiting Valve.
- Pressure Relief Device: Releases air pressure if maximum allowable pressure is reached.
- Thermostat: Auto-shuts off power if temperature reaches preset value or if heating without enough liquid.
- Thermal Fuse: Opens the circuit if maximum temperature is reached.
- Lid Safety Switch: Prevents operation if the lid is not properly secured.
- Lid Safety Button: The lid cannot be opened unless the button is pressed and held.
Usage Features:
- Control Panel: Features an LED display showing MENU functions, cooking indicator icons, cooking indicator bars, internal temperature, and countdown timer.
- MENU Dial: Used to scroll through MENU functions.
- TIMER Dial: Used to adjust cooking times for MENU functions or set custom Pressure Cook time in 1-minute increments. For Slow Cook, it adjusts in 30-minute increments.
- START Button: Initiates the cooking process after selecting a function.
- KEEP WARM/CANCEL Button: Activates Keep Warm mode or cancels any function at any time.
- Pressure Release: Offers two methods:
- Natural Release: Allows pressure to drop naturally, which can take 15-30 minutes. Recommended for certain meats, soups, rice, and desserts.
- Quick Release: Manually turning the Pressure Limiting Valve to the "Ceiling Venting" position to release pressure. Recommended for foods that should be Medium or Medium-Rare.
- Cooking with Frozen Food: Individual cuts up to 2.5cm thick can be cooked without altering cooking time, but larger cuts require increased cooking times.
- Rice Measurement: A dedicated rice measure cup is provided, and specific pot markings guide water levels for perfect rice.
- Liquid Requirements: Always ensure sufficient liquid (at least 1-3 cups for meat/poultry, 1-2 cups for vegetables) to build pressure. Overfilling beyond the maximum fill line is cautioned.
- Foaming Prevention: Adding 1-2 tablespoons of butter or oil is recommended when cooking rice or beans to prevent foaming.
- Flavor Enhancement: Sautéing meats and vegetables before pressure cooking is encouraged for richer flavors.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning:
- Always unplug, depressurize, and cool down before cleaning.
- Use a non-abrasive sponge or damp cloth for the outer body; never immerse it in liquids.
- Remove and rinse the Condensation Cup.
- Clean the Inner Main Body and Upper Ring with a damp sponge.
- Remove and rinse the Pressure Limiting Valve with warm water.
- Clean the Lid with warm soapy water, including the Silicone Seal Ring, Filter, Vent, and Float Valve.
- The small metal filter below the Pressure Limiting Valve can be easily removed for cleaning.
- Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling.
- The Inner Pot and Wire Rack are dishwasher safe, but non-abrasive sponges and non-lemon detergent are recommended for manual washing to prevent scratching over time.
- Silicone Seal Ring Assembly: Ensure the Silicone Seal Ring is securely fitted onto the metal Y-shaped ring inside the lid, with the crease meeting the outside of the Y-Ring. The hole in the cross-section of the Y-Ring must align with the metal pin in the center of the lid.
- Storage: Store the Inner Pot inside the appliance in a cool, dry location. Avoid storing with the lid on tightly to prevent gasket wear.
- Regular Checks: Periodically check the gasket and Float Valve to ensure they are clean, unobstructed, and in good working order.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides solutions for common issues like steam release, lid problems, error codes (E3, E4), and cooking inconsistencies. For persistent errors, contacting the manufacturer is advised.
