Usage Features:

The machines are designed for safe and effective use, with several guidelines to ensure proper operation and prevent injury:

  • Weight Limits: Users must not exceed the specified weight limits of the exercise device.
  • Safety Stops: If applicable, safety stops should be set to the appropriate height.
  • Adjustments: Seat pads, leg pads, foot pads, range of motion adjustments, or any other adjustment mechanisms should be set to a comfortable start position. It is crucial to ensure that the adjusting mechanism is fully engaged to prevent unintentional movement and injury.
  • Positioning: Users should sit on the bench (if applicable) and get into the appropriate position for the exercise.
  • Controlled Exercise: Exercise should be performed using no more weight than can be safely lifted and controlled, and in a controlled manner.
  • Return to Start Position: The weight should be returned to its fully-supported start position after each exercise.
  • Supervised Areas: This equipment should only be used in supervised areas where access and control are specifically regulated by the owner. The owner is responsible for determining who is allowed access, considering factors like reliability, age, and experience.
  • Floor Securing: Manufacturer recommends that all stationary MATRIX strength equipment be secured to the floor by a licensed contractor to stabilize the equipment and eliminate rocking or tipping over. This is a critical safety measure. If the equipment is not secured to the floor, resistance straps, ropes, or other means should NEVER be attached, and the equipment should NEVER be used for support during stretching, as this can lead to serious injury.
  • Adjustable Mechanisms: When adjusting any mechanism (e.g., stop position, seat position, pad location, range of motion limiter, pulley carriage), ensure it is fully engaged before use to prevent unintended motion.
  • Weight Stack Pin: Ensure the selector pin is completely inserted into the weight stack. NEVER use the machine with the weight stack pinned in an elevated position.
  • Resistance Incrementation: NEVER use dumbbells or other means to incrementally increase weight resistance; only use the means provided directly from the manufacturer.
  • Health Precautions: Injuries may result from incorrect or excessive training. Users should cease exercise if they feel faint or dizzy and obtain a medical exam before starting an exercise program.
  • Moving Parts: Keep body, clothing, hair, and fitness accessories free and clear of all moving parts.
  • Children and Teenagers: Children under 14 should be kept away from the equipment. Teenagers must be supervised at all times.
  • Accessibility: The equipment is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for smooth operation and longevity of the equipment.

  • Upholstery & Grips: Clean daily with a mild soap and water or a non-ammonia based cleaner.
  • Cables: Inspect daily.
  • Guide Rods: Clean monthly. Lubricate monthly with Teflon-based lubricant. Apply the lubricant to a cotton cloth and then apply up and down the guide rods.
  • Hardware: Inspect monthly.
  • Frame: Inspect bi-annually.
  • Machine: Clean as needed.
  • Labels: Lubricate guide rods as needed.
  • Damaged Parts: DO NOT use any equipment with damaged, worn, or broken parts. Only use replacement parts supplied by your country's local MATRIX dealer.
  • Labels and Nameplates: Do not remove labels as they contain important information. If unreadable or missing, contact your MATRIX dealer for a replacement.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Regular inspections are key to smooth operation and minimizing liability.
