Overview

The MAXKON STAR 2000 & STAR 2500 are ceiling or wall-mounted infrared heaters designed for both indoor and outdoor use in unenclosed spaces. These heaters provide medium-wave infrared heat, characterized by a strong central beam that gradually dissipates to a gentler intensity in the surrounding heated area. They are suitable for heating people in various settings, from low physical activity areas like seating zones to more active environments such as warehouses, or areas subject to stronger airflow.

Function Description

The MAXKON STAR heaters utilize an ultra-long-life carbon heating lamp, designed for approximately 10,000 hours of operation, to generate infrared heat. A mirror aluminum reflector, boasting 98% reflection, prevents rearward heat loss, ensuring efficient forward projection of warmth. The heaters are operated via a remote control, which allows users to power the unit on or off, adjust the heat level, and set a timer.

The remote control offers four power levels, increasing in 25% increments from L1 (minimum) to L4 (maximum), providing flexibility to tailor the heat output to specific needs. Additionally, a 24-hour timer function allows for scheduled operation, with settings adjustable in one-hour increments. This feature is particularly useful for managing energy consumption and ensuring the heater operates only when required.

A notable feature of the MAXKON STAR heaters is the black bulb sensor. This sensor monitors the ambient temperature and, if it detects a sudden drop (e.g., a 3-degree drop within one minute), the product will automatically turn on. This intelligent function helps maintain a consistent comfort level, especially in environments where temperature fluctuations might occur. The heaters also incorporate a working time limitation function, enabling end-users to set up a running procedure for up to seven days, further enhancing their automated capabilities.

Usage Features

The MAXKON STAR heaters are designed for versatile mounting, either on a wall or ceiling, using the provided swivel brackets. These brackets are specifically engineered to ensure adequate clearances at the back of the unit, facilitating proper installation. The recommended installation height for optimal performance ranges from 2.4m to 3.5m (95"-138") from the floor. However, it is crucial not to mount the heater below 2.4m if an automated on/off controller is in use, and under no circumstances should it be installed at less than 1.8m (71") from the floor. Consideration should be given to any temporary additions like stages or platforms that might alter the effective mounting height.

The mounting height directly influences the heated zone: higher installations result in a larger heated area but with less intense warmth. Conversely, mounting the heater at a lower height provides more intense warmth, making it suitable for areas with low physical activity or those exposed to stronger airflow. For outdoor use or windy conditions, the directional infrared spread may be reduced by 1/3 to 1/2, a factor to consider during placement.

The remote control simplifies operation, allowing users to conveniently manage the heater's settings from a distance. The "UP" and "DOWN" buttons adjust both temperature and timer levels, while the "LEVEL" button cycles through the four heat settings. The "TIMER" button activates the timer function, which can be set for up to 24 hours. All remote controls operate on the same frequency, meaning a single remote can control multiple MAXKON STAR heaters, offering convenience for installations with several units.

Maintenance Features

Maintaining the MAXKON STAR heater is straightforward. The unit can be wiped down with a soft, damp cloth. Abrasive detergents should not be used for cleaning. In marine environments, where salt exposure might be a concern, the unit can be gently sprayed clean with clean water, but only after ensuring the power is turned off and the heater has completely cooled. After cleaning, it is advisable to warm the heater for 10-20 minutes to thoroughly dry the unit and prevent staining.

The carbon heating lamp, with its ultra-long life of 10,000 hours, is designed for extended use. Should the lamp require replacement, this procedure must only be carried out by suitably qualified personnel, following the specific instructions provided on the manufacturer's website. This ensures safety and proper functionality.

Troubleshooting common issues is also addressed. If an "E1 Error" appears on the display, it indicates that the control unit has overheated. In such cases, users should check installation clearances, allow the heater to cool for 15 minutes, and then restart it. If the display shows "L1, L2, L3, or L4" but no heat is emitted, it suggests a damaged bulb, and a replacement should be arranged through a local dealer.

The MAXKON STAR heaters are designed with environmental responsibility in mind. At the end of their useful life, these electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Users are encouraged to recycle them where facilities exist, checking with their local authority or retailer for appropriate recycling advice in their county. This commitment to recycling helps minimize environmental impact.
