What to do if the oven door will not unlock on my Maytag Ranges?
    • J
      Jill PerezAug 14, 2025
If the oven door on your Maytag Ranges will not unlock, first allow the self-cleaning cycle to complete. If the oven is still hot, the door will not unlock until it has cooled to a safe temperature. Do not force the door open, as this will void the warranty. You can blow cool air on the door latch area to quicken the cooling process.

Why are the elements in my Maytag MER6875AAS not heating?
    • G
      Gregory WoodsAug 17, 2025
The surface or oven elements may not be heating due to a lack of power or improperly set oven controls. Ensure the plug is securely inserted into the receptacle, check and reset the circuit breaker or replace the fuse. Also, verify that the surface and/or oven controls have been properly set and that the oven is not set for a delayed operation. If it is an upper oven, ensure it is not in a toasting operation.
  • J
    jacqueline52Aug 21, 2025
Why does my Maytag MER6875AAS Ranges smoke or have an odor when first used?
    • M
      Matthew BellAug 21, 2025
Minor smoking and/or odor is normal during the first few uses of the oven. Ventilate the area well and perform a self-clean cycle.
  • R
    Robert GregoryAug 25, 2025
What to do if my Maytag MER6875AAS isn't working?
    • E
      Emily FordAug 25, 2025
If part or all of your Maytag Ranges isn't working, check the power supply and circuit breaker. Make sure the oven controls are properly set and that the oven door is unlocked, especially after a self-clean cycle. Also, ensure the oven is not set for a delayed cooking or cleaning program.

How to fix oven light that is not working in Maytag Ranges?
    • A
      aaronhardyAug 27, 2025
If the oven light in your Maytag Ranges is not working, start by checking and replacing the lamp if necessary. Then, check for broken, loose, or dirty wiring connections. Also, inspect the light socket for continuity and the light plunger/switch for continuity, referring to the wiring diagram for application.
  • M
    Michael HamiltonAug 30, 2025
Why is the convection fan motor not working in my Maytag MER6875AAS Ranges?
    • J
      Jacob MillsAug 30, 2025
If the convection fan motor is not operating, first check for 120 VAC supplied at the fan motor. If there is no voltage, check for broken or loose wiring between the fan motor and the relay board. If voltage is present at the fan motor, check the motor winding for continuity, a frozen motor shaft, and broken wiring between the motor and the neutral terminal block.
  • S
    Sharon WilsonSep 3, 2025
Why is there no oven operation in bake or broil in my Maytag MER6875AAS?
    • A
      Ann JonesSep 3, 2025
If there is no oven operation in bake or broil, check for 120 VAC at the control. If there is no voltage, check the power source. Also, check 120 VAC to the ignitor; if there is no voltage, replace the control. Verify all wire connections are clean and tight, and replace any broken wires.

    Wayne FosterSep 6, 2025
How to fix self-clean cycle that is not working on Maytag Ranges?
    • D
      David JohnsonSep 6, 2025
If the self-clean cycle is not working on your Maytag Ranges, shut off power to the oven for five minutes by switching off the circuit breaker. Then, reset the circuit breaker and try the oven again.
  • W
    Wanda MontesSep 9, 2025
Why does the broil element shut off during self-clean on my Maytag Ranges?
    • T
      Timothy BlakeSep 9, 2025
If the broil element shuts off shortly after the start of the self-clean operation, first verify that power is present at the unit and that the circuit breaker is not tripped. Also, replace the household fuse, but do not increase fuse capacity.
