TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS)
Your vehicle is equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
that detects low tire pressure in one or more tires. In the following cases,
the TPMS must be “initialized” so the system can operate normally.
• Thetirepressureisadjusted(upordown)inoneormoretires.
• Atirerotationisperformed.
• Anytireorwheelisreplaced.
• Thevehicle’sbatteryisdisconnected,replacedorcompletelydead.
Initialization Process (TPMS Warning Light is Illuminated):
1 Parkthevehicleinasafeplaceandrmlyapplytheparkingbrake.
2 Letthetirescool,thenadjustthetirepressuretothespecied
pressure(Seetirelabellocatedonthedriver’ssideB-pillaroredge
ofdriver’sdoorframeforspecication)onallfour(4)tires.
3 SwitchtheignitionON,butleavethevehicleparked.
4 PushandholdtheTPMS“SetSwitch”(leftsideofdash)
untiltheTPMSwarninglight
intheinstrumentclusterashestwice
anda
beepsoundisheardonce.

CAUTION:IftheTPMS“SetSwitch”ispushedwithoutadjustingthetire
pressure,thesystemcannotdetectthenormaltirepressure.TheTPMS
warninglightmaynotilluminate,evenifthetirepressureislow,oritmay
illuminateifthetirepressureisnormal.
