Emergency Trunk Opening
MANUAL CONVERTIBLE TOP
If the trunk cannot be opened due to a dead battery or an electrical
malfunction, perform the following procedure.
1 Close the convertible top.
2 Remove the windblocker.
3 Remove the fasteners on the
passenger side of the vehicle.
4 Partially peel back the cover on the
passenger side of the vehicle.
5 Turn and loosen the cap screws until
the screws start to spin free.
6 Pull out the cap and open the trunk lid.
After performing this procedure, have the vehicle inspected at an
Authorized Mazda Dealer as soon as possible.
