verter may be used to decode a variety Digital Audio
Signals. It will decode a two channel PCM Encoded
Digital Signal into a two channel Analog Signal.
There are connections for BNC, Coaxial, Optical,
USB and XLR Digital Inputs. They may be connected
simultaneously and the MCD1100 has electronic
switching for selection of the desired music source.
The default Digital Input Selection is playback of
a disc in the MCD1100. The Front Panel display will

Audio Outputs. Refer to figures 37, and 38. To select

the INPUT Push-button on
the Front Panel or press the
INTRO Push-button on the
MCD1100 Remote Control
repeatedly until the name of
the desired Input appears on
the Front Panel Information Display. Refer to figures

Playback) to DSD (SACD Playback) the LED
above the Front Panel INPUT Push-button will
flash.

The MCD1100 USB Input provides the capability to
playback music from a computer, when the computer
is connected to the rear panel USB connector. The
MCD1100 USB Input is compatible with PC Comput-
ers using Microsoft

Windows

(XP with Service

and Apple

Macintosh
®
Computers using OS-X with
the latest update. McIntosh has verified proper play-
back operation using Windows Media Player version
11 and iTunes version 10.
When a disc in the computer is
playing back, the PLAYf, PAUSE
, NEXT TRACK , BACK
TRACK and Stop Push-
buttons on the McIntosh Remote
Control will control playback of
the disc.
Note: When computer applica-
tion programs and various
computer hardware compo-
nents conform to the Micro-

should also work well when
used in conjunction with the
MCD1100 USB Input. If you
