Do not use the product when other persons, especially
children, or pets, are in the vicinity.
Do not tilt the product when you start the motor.
Stand at a safe distance behind the handle.
Keep your hands and feet away from moving parts before
you start the motor.
Switch o the product before you tilt it and before you
move it, for example to and from the lawn or over paths.
Never cross over gravel surfaces whilst the motor is in
operation – risk of stones being ejected.
Switch o the product and wait until all moving parts
have completely stopped before you lift or carry the
product.
Switch o the product and wait until all moving parts
have completely stopped before you perform any
adjustments or before you adjust the cutting height.
Never open the ejector flap when the motor is still in
operation.
Switch o the product and wait until all moving parts
have completely stopped before you remove the grass
catcher. Reattach the grass catcher after emptying.
If possible, avoid to cut wet grass.
Do not use the product in explosive environments, for
example near flammable liquids, gas or dust. The product
produces sparks, which can ignite dust and fumes.
Do not leave the product unattended when the motor is
in operation.
Use the product carefully. Do not run with the product.
Make sure your fingers do not get stuck between the
blades and fixed parts of the product during maintenance
– risk of serious personal injury.
Do not mow wet ground, near streams/ditches or steep
slopes – risk of losing control.
Do not use the product to cut bushes, creeping plants or
vegetation on roofs or balconies, to remove rubbish from
paths or to cut twigs – risk of serious personal injury.
Do not use the product in an attempt to level
irregularities in the lawn, such as molehills.
Do not use the product to drive other products.
2.3.1 Remaining risks
Even if appropriate safety regulations are adhered to and
safety devices are used, it is not possible to eliminate all
risks.
The following risks remain:
Risk of cut injuries.
Risk of hearing impairment. Prolonged use without ear
protection can result in the risk of a hearing impairment.
Wear ear protection.
Risk of personal injury as a result of vibration during
prolonged and/or incorrect use.
During prolonged use vibrations are suspected to cause
circulation problems in the hands and arms, or Raynaud’s
syndrome (white fingers). Stop working immediately and
seek medical attention if you experience numbness,
itching, tingling or pain, or if your skin changes colour.
Limit the risk of injuries as a result of vibrations by
maintaining the tool correctly, keeping your hands warm
and taking breaks.
Even if the product is used in accordance with the
instructions it is impossible to rule out all risk factors.
2.4 Training
Caution: Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar
with the controls and the correct use of the machine.
Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these
instructions to use the machine. Local regulations can
restrict the age of the operator.
Never operate the machine while people, especially
children, or pets are nearby.
Keep in mind that the operator or user is responsible for
accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their
property
2.5 Preparation
While operating the machine always wear substantial
footwear and long trousers. Do not operate the
machine when barefoot or wearing open sandals.
Avoid wearing clothing that is loose fitting or that has
hanging cords or ties.
Thoroughly inspect the area where the machine is to
be used and remove all objects which can be thrown
by the machine.
Before using, always visually inspect to see that the
blade, blade bolt and the blade assembly are not worn
or damaged. Replace worn or damaged components
in sets to preserve balance. Replace damaged or
unreadable labels.
