WARRANTY QUALIFICATION AND SERVICE
The following information verifies proper installation and operation of your Mendota Fireplace. All installation and operating
instructions must be carefully followed. This Mendota Fireplace must be installed and serviced by a qualified installer, service
agency, or the gas supplier.
7.1 INSTALLER VERIFICATION CHECKLIST
Installer Verification Checklist
Mechanical:
❑ Install approved vent pipes and vent cap per manual
❑ Vent Length conforms to minimum and maximum vertical and horizontal vent run requirements
❑ Vent damper position must be adjusted per vent length, as recommended.
❑ Check for proper clearances to combustibles and vent locations per manual
❑ Install proper size gas lines; check for gas leaks per manual
Plumbing:
❑ Check for correct gas pressure at manifold per manual
❑ Manifold pressure to be 3.5” Inches Water Column maximum - Nat. Gas (plus or minus 1/8”)
❑ Manifold pressure to be 10” Inches Water Column maximum - L.P. Gas (plus or minus 1/8”)
❑ Check cycle burners on/off for prompt ignition per lighting instructions
❑ Burners must light immediately
❑ Flames must travel promptly along entire length of burner
Setup:
❑ Install logs and adjust flame per manual
❑ Light Pilot
❑ Operate Burner
❑ Proper pilot flame impingement on burner
❑ Burner air shutter opening: 1/16”-1/8" Nat. Gas and 1/4“-fully open LP
❑ Check that flame is "stable" and is not "lifting" off burner after draft has been established (approx. five minutes)
❑ Adjust exhaust damper for ultimate flame appearance after 25 minutes of startup
Homeowner Training:
❑ Train owner on remote control functions
❑ Explain thermostatic functions
❑ Brief and Instruct owner on periodic maintenance requirements of unit
