This document outlines the operation, assembly, and maintenance instructions for a Lift Chair, model PP192721. The chair is designed for both power reclining and power lifting functions, offering enhanced comfort and accessibility for users.
Function Description
The Lift Chair provides two primary functions: electric lifting and reclining. These functions are controlled via a wired remote control.
- Electric Reclining: To recline the chair back and footrest, the user presses the "UP" button on the remote control. This allows for a comfortable, laid-back position.
- Electric Lifting: The chair can be lifted to assist users in standing up. To return the chair back and footrest to their original, upright position, the user presses the "DOWN" button once. Pressing the "DOWN" button a second time will initiate the lifting mechanism, raising the entire chair to an elevated position. To lower the chair back to its original position, the "UP" button is pressed.
Usage Features
The Lift Chair is designed for ease of use and user safety, with several important considerations:
- Power Connection: The chair requires a direct current connection. The user plugs the direct current end of the cord into the AC Adapter outlet, and then inserts the AC adapter plug into a wall outlet for power.
- Remote Control: The chair is operated using a wired remote control with clearly marked "UP" and "DOWN" buttons for reclining and lifting functions. The remote control is designed to be stored in a pocket on the chair for convenience.
- Weight Capacity: The chair is designed for use by one adult at a time, with a maximum weight capacity of 330 LBS. It is crucial not to exceed this weight limit to ensure safe operation and prevent damage.
- Safe Operation: Users are advised to sit down gently to avoid tipping. When reclining, the chair should be moved slowly, ensuring no children or pets are in close proximity. The recliner should be fully closed before getting out. It is important not to sit on the footrest when it is open, or on the arms of the chair, to prevent tipping.
- Indoor Use Only: The chair is intended for indoor use and should not be used outdoors.
- Supervision: Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children, invalids, or disabled persons. The unit is not a toy, and children should not use or play with it.
- Environmental Precautions: The chair should not be operated where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered. It should not be used near eyes or other highly sensitive areas.
- Disconnection: To disconnect the chair, the "OFF" button should be pressed to stop all functions, and then the plug should be removed from the outlet.
- Intended Use: The appliance should only be used for its intended purpose as described in the manual, and no unauthorized attachments should be used.
- Health Caution: Individuals with pacemakers should not use this product. If any health concerns arise or if pain persists after using the chair, a doctor should be consulted.
Maintenance Features
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of the Lift Chair:
- Storage: When storing, the unit should be placed in its original box in a dry and cool place. Care should be taken to avoid contact with sharp objects that could cut or puncture the fabric. The power cord should not be wrapped around the unit or pulled by the cord.
- Cleaning: Before cleaning, the unit must be unplugged from the power source and allowed to cool down. No liquids should be used directly for cleaning. The fabric cover can be cleaned by wiping with a damp sponge using a mild detergent or suds, then patted dry with a clean, dry cloth. Abrasive cleaners, brushes, gasoline, kerosene, glass furniture polish, paint thinner, or water hotter than 120 °F should not be used.
- Handling: To avoid dropping, the sofa should be carried carefully.
- Stain Removal: For dirt or stains, a sofa-specific cleaner can be sprayed, and then wiped away with a sponge or cloth. Water, soapy water, or cleaners with waxed wooden areas should be avoided.
- Environmental Protection: The sofa should not be placed in direct sunlight or in front of an air conditioner, as this can cause the upholstery to fade and become brittle.
- Physical Contact: The product should not come into contact with water, fire, or sharp objects (knives, nails, etc.).
- Disassembly: For disassembly, a strong tool is needed to prod a small piece of metal in the grooves, which will allow the backrest to be pulled out. It is crucial that the wire of the power motor does not pass through the top of the wooden frame, as this could snap the wire.
