WARNING Risk of accident due to limited
safety-related functions during the towing

Safety-related functions are limited or no lon-
ger available in the following situations:

the vehicle is switched o.
R
the brake system or power steering system
is malfunctioning.
R
the energy supply or the on-board electri-
cal system is malfunctioning.
When your vehicle is towed away, signicantly
more eort may be required to steer and
brake than is normally required.

Use a tow bar.

Make sure that the steering wheel can
move freely before towing the vehicle
away.

NOTE Damage due to excessive tractive
power
If you pull away sharply, the tractive power
may be too high and the vehicles could be
damaged.

Pull away slowly and smoothly.

Additional functions of buttons
â–ŒOpening and closing the windows using the air-
recirculation button (convenience closing/open-
ing)
When the air-recirculation mode is activated, the
side windows can be closed automatically, e.g.
before entering a tunnel. When the air-recircula-
tion mode is deactivated, the side windows can
be moved back to their original position.

paying attention during convenience clos-
ing
When the convenience closing feature is oper-
ating, parts of the body could become trapped
in the closing area of the side window and the
sliding sunroof.

When the convenience closing feature is
operating, monitor the entire closing
process and make sure that no body
parts are in the closing area.
