If these steps don't resolve the issue, the battery or starter may be defective and require testing and replacement. Damaged flywheel ring gear may also cause this problem, confirm diagnostics to replace it. In rare cases, the engine could be seized; attempt to rotate it by hand with the spark plugs removed to confirm. Finally, a faulty ignition switch could be the culprit; test the wire with a remote starter switch at the starter motor.
