MEASUREMENTS
• Clean the place (s) where you want to
measure free of dirt, dust, etc. Remove it if
necessary existing surface moisture.
• Press the on / o button (5) to switch on the VM128
• Always perform a calibration after switching on.

and press the measurement button (7). In the
display the text CAL will become visible and then
a measured value of less than 0.5. If this is not the
case, repeat the operation.
• Keep the measuring head perpendicular to the
material to be measured and 8 - 10 cm away from
a wall.
• Avoid metal parts while measuring.
• Hold down the measurement button (7) and start
the measurement. The LCD screen will display the
measured value (10).
• If you move the measuring head over the material,
the measured value will be visible in the display and
also the highest and lowest measured value (11
and 16).
• The HOLD symbol (12) is now visible.
• After releasing the measuring button (7) the last
measured value will remain visible for 30 seconds
(HOLD), then the instrument will be switched o to
save the batteries.
• The smoother the surface, the more accurate the
measured value is.
• Materials with a higher density will inuence the
measured value. With a greater density, the meas-
ured value will be higher.
• If the material is less than 2 cm thick, this can aect
the measured value
BACKLIGHTNING
• With the UP button you can switch the backlight on
or o.
CHANGING THE BATTERIES
Loosen the screw at the top of the battery cover. Open
the lid and remove all batteries. Insert the new batteries
(observe the correct polarity and use only the same type of
batteries) and screw the cover back onto the instrument.
Do not throw the used batteries into the household
waste, in the re or in the water. Please observe the legal
requirements.
