Do you have a question about the MFJ MFJ-1982LP and is the answer not in the manual?
Six versions of this antenna are available, allowing you to pick the one best suited for your application.
Install the antenna wire using one or more high supports, especially shaped to slide through branches easily.
Install a safety ground rod or counterpoise for an alternate return path and reduced common-mode RF energy.
Use suitable 50-ohm coaxial cable, keep it short, route along the ground, and avoid ferrite beads at the input.
Specially designed insulator to prevent snagging on branches during installation or take-down.
Ensure adequate cooling by mounting the network in the clear and cleaning screened vents periodically.
Adjust wire length to change frequency. For MFJ-1982, adjust at the far end to maintain coil spacing.
Overheating causes mismatch. Reduce power, shorten transmissions, or risk permanent damage to the core.
For long feed lines, ground the network and equipment separately, and run feed line along the ground.
