The manual also details maximum length and drop height for refrigerant piping based on capacity and refrigerant type (R410A, R32, R22), with specific guidelines for inverter and fixed-speed split air conditioners. For instance, R410A/R32 inverter units with capacity < 15,000 BTU/h have a maximum length of 25m (82ft) and a maximum drop height of 10m (33ft).

Usage Features

  • Remote Control Operation: The unit is primarily operated via a remote control (models RG10A(B2S)/BGEF, RG10A(B2S)/BGEFU1, etc.) with a signal receiving range of 8m. The remote allows users to select modes (AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, FAN), adjust temperature (16°C/60°F to 30°C/86°F), set fan speed (AU, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%), and control swing functions.
  • Manual Operation: In case of a lost remote, the unit can be manually operated to activate FORCED AUTO, FORCED COOLING, or turn off the unit.
  • Timer ON/OFF: Users can set a timer to automatically turn the unit on or off, with settings adjustable in 30-minute increments up to 10 hours, then 1-hour increments up to 24 hours.
  • Swing Function: Controls the horizontal louver movement and can initiate vertical louver auto swing (model dependent).
  • LED Display: The indoor unit's LED display can be turned on or off. Pressing the LED button for more than 5 seconds can display the actual room temperature.
  • BOOST Function: Quickly reaches the desired temperature by blowing cool air with the strongest wind setting in COOL mode, or heat air in HEAT mode.
  • ECO/GEAR Function: Optimizes energy efficiency by allowing selection between ECO mode, GEAR(75%), and GEAR(50%) settings.
  • Silence Function: Reduces compressor and fan operation to lower noise levels, ideal for quiet environments.
  • Breeze Away (some units): Avoids direct airflow on the body for a more comfortable experience.
  • Air Magic/UV-C Lamp (some units): Activates air purification features.
  • Sleep Operation: Automatically adjusts temperature during sleep to save energy and maintain comfort.
  • Follow Me Function: The remote control measures ambient temperature at its location and sends the signal to the air conditioner, allowing the unit to optimize temperature around the user.
  • Auto-Restart: The unit automatically restarts with prior settings after a power loss.
  • Anti-mildew: Dries up condensed water to prevent mildew growth when turning off from COOL, AUTO (COOL), or DRY modes.
  • Wireless Control (Model dependent): Allows control via a mobile phone and a wireless connection.
  • Active Clean Function (some units): Washes away dust from the heat exchanger by freezing and thawing frost, improving cleaning effect and keeping the inside clean.
  • ECO Intelligent Eye (some units): Detects people's activities in the room and adjusts operation (e.g., lowering frequency in COOL mode when no one is present) to save energy.
  • Refrigerant Leakage Detection (some units): Displays "ELOC" on the indoor unit when refrigerant leakage is detected.
  • Louver Angle Memory: The louver resumes its former angle when the unit is turned on.

Maintenance Features

  • Air Filter Cleaning: The manual provides instructions for cleaning the air filter, recommending cleaning every two weeks.
  • Air Filter Reminders (Optional): The indoor unit display may flash "CL" after 240 hours of use to remind users to clean the filter, and "nF" after 2,880 hours to replace it. These reminders can be reset using the remote control or manual control button.
  • Long Periods of Non-Use: Instructions include cleaning all filters, running the FAN function to dry the unit, turning off power, and removing remote control batteries.
  • Pre-Season Inspection: Recommendations include checking for damaged wires, cleaning all filters, checking for leaks, ensuring clear air inlets and outlets, and replacing remote control batteries.
  • Self Clean/Active Clean Function: The remote control has a dedicated button to start/stop this function, which helps maintain the cleanliness of the indoor unit.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: Provides solutions for common issues like the unit not turning on, changing modes unexpectedly, emitting white mist, or making noises. It also lists error codes and advises contacting an authorized service center for persistent problems.
