This document is an Owner's Manual for the Midea V6R Series VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) air conditioner, distributed by Frigicoll. It provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the device.

Function Description

The Midea V6R Series VRF air conditioner is designed for commercial purposes, such as stores, shopping malls, and large office buildings, offering both heating and cooling functionalities. It can also operate in a "mix cooling & heating" mode. The system consists of outdoor units and multiple indoor units, which can be controlled separately. The primary function is to regulate indoor temperature and humidity to create a comfortable environment. A "Dry Program" is available to reduce indoor humidity with minimal temperature drop.

Usage Features

  • Control: The indoor units can be controlled separately. The operating program varies with different combinations of outdoor units and controllers. Standard controls are supported, but custom control systems may also be installed.
  • Mode Selection: Users can select between cooling, heating, and fan modes. However, indoor units connected to the same port of the mode selection (MS) box cannot operate in heating and cooling modes simultaneously. A "mode conflict" (E0 error) will be displayed if this occurs.
  • Automatic Restart: In case of a power outage, the unit will automatically restart its operation when the power supply resumes.
  • Dry Program: This program automatically determines temperature and fan rotation speed to reduce humidity, and these settings cannot be manually adjusted via the user interface.
  • Fan Speed and Air Flow Direction: These settings can be adjusted via the user interface, though the air flow direction function may not be available for all indoor units. The fan speed may not change as expected during heating when the indoor temperature reaches the set temperature, or if another indoor unit is in heating operation.
  • Defrost Operation: During heating, if the outdoor temperature decreases and frost forms on the heat exchanger, the system will perform a defrosting operation. The indoor unit will display "defrost operation," and the indoor fan motor will stop to prevent cold air discharge. This is a normal function and not a malfunction.
  • Heating Performance: Heating operation takes longer than cooling. External temperature drops can reduce heating capacity, suggesting the use of supplementary heating equipment if necessary (with proper ventilation).
  • Room Temperature Rise: It takes some time for the room temperature to rise after the unit starts heating. If hot air rises to the ceiling, a circulating device is recommended to distribute indoor air.

Maintenance Features

  • Professional Maintenance: All maintenance, repair, and dismantling work, especially involving refrigerant, oil, and other components, must be carried out by authorized installation personnel or qualified air conditioning service engineers. Incorrect servicing can lead to electric shock, fire, or water leakage.
  • Regular Checks: The refrigerant must be checked regularly for leakages according to applicable law.
  • Cleaning:
    • Air Filter and External Shell: These should be cleaned regularly. The installation/user manuals for indoor units provide specific maintenance tips and cleaning procedures. Ensure the clean air filter is installed in its original position.
    • Control Panel: Do not use gasoline, diluent, or chemical dust cloth. Clean with a cloth immersed in diluted neutral detergent, squeezed dry, and then wiped with a dry cloth.
  • Maintenance After Long Shutdown: Before restarting after a long period (e.g., early summer or winter), check and remove any objects clogging air inlets/outlets, clean the air filter and external shell, and turn on the main power supply 12 hours prior to operation.
  • Maintenance Before Long Shutdown: Before shutting down for a long period (e.g., end of winter or summer), run the indoor unit in fan mode for about half a day to dry internal parts, then turn off the power supply.
  • Warranty: The product includes a warranty card completed by the agent during installation. Customers should keep this card for future reference and contact the agent for repairs during the warranty period.
  • Recommended Maintenance and Inspection: Due to dust accumulation over years of use, unit performance may degrade. Professional skills are required for dismantling and cleaning for optimal maintenance. Contact the agent for details, providing the model name, installation date, and fault symptoms.
  • Shorter Maintenance Cycle: The maintenance and replacement cycle may be shortened if the unit is used in conditions such as extreme temperature/humidity fluctuations, large power fluctuations, frequent collisions/vibrations, air containing dust/salt/harmful gases, or frequent on/off cycles or prolonged operating times.
