Replacing the Spark Plug
NOTE: Before removing the spark plug, thoroughly clean the spark plug and cylin-
der head area. Follow these steps to replace the spark plug:
1. Ensure the engine is cool before servicing the spark plug.
2. Remove the spark plug boot.
3.Loosenthesparkplugbyturningitcounterclockwisewithasocket.
4. Remove the spark plug.
5.Handthreadsthenewsparkplug,turningitclockwise.Donotovertighten.
CAUTION: Be careful not to cross-thread the spark plug. Cross threading will
seriously damage the product.
WARNING: Depending on the type of fuel used, the type and amount of oil used
and/oryouroperatingconditions,theexhaustportandmufermaybecome
blocked with carbon deposits. If you notice a power loss with your petrol powered
tool you may need to remove these deposits to restore performance. We highly
recommendthatonlyqualiedservicetechniciansperformthisservice.
The Air Filter
CleaningtheAirFilter
Followthesestepstocleantheairlter:
1. Stop the engine.
2. Remove the spark plug boot.
3.Loosentheaircleanercoverbyturning
the knob counter clockwise.
4.Removetheairltercover.
5.Removetheairlterelement.
6. Inspect the element. If the element is
distorted or damaged replace it with a new one.
7. Wash the element in clean fuel and squeeze
or blow dry.
8. Wash the air cleaner in clean fuel and wipe or blow dry.
9.Rinsetheairlterandletitdrycompletely.
10.Worktwodropsofoilintotheairlter.
11.Replacetheairlter(tsonlyoneway).
12.Replacetheairltercover.
13.Tightentheairltercoverbyturningtheknobclockwise.
14. Replace the spark plug boot.
WARNING: Keeping air intake vents free of grass and debris prevents motor
overheating and possible failure.
