Add shims to make the latch looser. Remove shims to make the latch tighter. To add shims, add a notch to the
shims as shown. Then you will not have to remove the handle assembly. When you remove or add shims,
always start with the thinnest shim.
Make a notch as shown.
Put in the machine screw. Put the eye of the torsion spring on the screw then put the flat washer, lock washer,
and nut on the screw to hold
the eye. Tighten the nut.
Put the free end of the spring into this hole.
