The vehicle is unlocked.
Pressing the buttons for the central locking sys‐
tem locks and unlocks the closed doors and the
tailgate, but they are not secured against theft.
The fuel filler flap remains unlocked.
In the event of a severe accident, the vehicle is
automatically unlocked. The hazard warning
system and interior lights come on.
Unlocking and opening
▷ Press the central locking system
button to unlock the doors to‐
gether, and then pull the door handle
above the armrest.
▷ Pull the door opener on the door to be
opened. The other door remain locked.
Tailgate
Information
WARNING
Body parts can be jammed when operat‐
ing the tailgate. There is a risk of injuries. Make
sure that the area of movement of the tailgate
is clear during opening and closing.◀
To avoid locking it into the vehicle, do not place
the remote control in the cargo area.
Opening from the outside
When the tailgate is opened, make sure there is
sufficient clearance to prevent damage.
▷ Unlock the vehicle and press the button on
the tailgate.
▷ Press button on the remote control
for approx. 1 second.
As the case may be, the doors are also un‐
locked. Unlocking with the remote control,
refer to page 39.
The tailgate is unlocked and can be swung
downward.
Opening from the inside
With the vehicle is stationary, press the
button in the driver's floor area.
Closing
To close the tailgate, swivel it upwards and
press it closed.
Emergency unlocking
Pull the handle inside the cargo area.
The tailgate unlocks.
Comfort Access
The concept
The vehicle can be accessed without activating
the remote control.
All you need to do is to have the remote control
with you, such as in your pants pocket.
