Operating your Minivator 1000
Your Minivator stairlift is fitted with a key
switch (Figure 2).
The stairlift cannot be operated unless the
key is inser
ted and turned to the on
position.
The key switch is provided to enable
you to lock the stairlift to prevent it
being used by others (for example
childr
en).
However
, it can be left in the on position if
desired.
If you remove your key for safety
r
easons, please ensur
e you put it in a
safe place.
If the key switch is turned off the lift will
continue to char
ge.
As well as a key switch your stairlift is fitted
with an on/off switch (Figur
e 3) on the
bottom, front panel of the lift.
Ensur
e that this is left in the ‘ON’
position. The fault diagnosis display
panel will be illuminated to indicate
this.
If you intend to be away from home for a
long period, and decide to switch of
f the
mains supply, it is important that you also
switch of
f the lift fr
om this on/off switch.
This will ensure that the lift batteries will
remain charged while you are away.

The stairlift
is fitted with
a diagnostic
display
(Figure 4) that displays a code to
help diagnose faults. Refer to Appendix 3
for an explanation of the diagnostic codes.
If you should experience a problem with
your lift please
examine
the display and
make a note of any codes that are
displayed. Please inform the customer
ser
vices operator of these codes when
r
eporting any fault.
Before use
Before using your stairlift, MOST
IMPORTANTLY please ensure the stairs are
clear of other people, pets or any objects
which may obstruct your stairlift.
Then ensure that the arms, footplate and
seat ar
e folded down for use to ensur
e
your safety (Figure 5).
