Length of scenes and frames per second : .. ·······For general shooting, set the came ra at 16 fps. About
5 seco nds is the rig ht le ngth for each scene. (In 5 seconds, approxi mat ely one foot of film is u sed.)
For moving objects 8 seco nd scenes are better.
Zooining
Zooming is e ff ective when you want to emphasize
the principal subject by bringing it n ea rer to the
audie nce or moving it away. But , do not use it
too often,
or you will lessen its effect on your
audience
• The speed of zooming de pends on the scene.
Determine the effective speed by practice .

During zooming, if the focal length goes beyond
20mm, a slight camera movement may spoil the
scene. It is, adv isable to use a tripod if you want
