(ver.1.2 2016/12)
●VERGO-TF is a an in-vehicle bike mounting base and should not be used for any other purpose.
●For normal 2-wheel bike only. Not suitable for heavy electric, downhill or tandem bikes.
●Standard 9mm quick release skewer and 15mm thru type axle can be used on VERGO-TF. 20mm thru axle for
downhill bike cannot be mounted. A plain front fork for standard nut type axle is compatible.
●When using 9mm quick release skewer, use the supplied skewer. When using 15mm thru type axle, remove the
sleeves from the Fork Mount and use your own axle.
●The Fork Mount in the kit is for the standard 100mm width hub only. Any other sizes cannot be mounted.
Boost Hub and 12mm Thru Axle can be used by using the optional adapter (sold separately).
●Do not grasp the brake lever after removing the wheel if your bike is equipped with hydraulic disc brake.
●Drive carefully when transporting bikes with the VERGO-TF. Do not x bikes to the oor and be careful when
accelerating, braking or driving recklessly. Your bikes and vehicle may sustain damage so we recommend you tie
the bikes down with a strap.
●When closing the back gate door, make sure the bike will not hit the rear window.
TF-1 has much shorter Rail Bar that means the total stability of TF-1 is much weaker than other versions. You must use a tie-
down belt to hold the bike securely. Don't leave just put on the oor.

Overview

The MINOURA VERGO TF-1 is an in-vehicle bike mounting base designed for transporting bicycles securely inside a vehicle. It is specifically intended for normal 2-wheel bikes and is not suitable for heavy electric, downhill, or tandem bikes. The device comes with a 1-year warranty.

Function Description:

The VERGO TF-1 serves as a stable platform to mount the front fork of a bicycle, holding it upright and secure during transit. It is pre-assembled and consists of a Rail Bar, End Bases, and Fork Mounts. The system allows for quick and easy installation and removal of bikes, making it convenient for cyclists.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Warranty Period: 1 year.
  • Rail Bar Length: 615mm (for the VERGO TF-1 model). Note that the TF-1 has a shorter Rail Bar compared to other versions, which means its total stability is weaker. Therefore, it is crucial to use a tie-down belt to hold the bike securely and not rely solely on placing it on the floor.
  • Axle Compatibility:
    • Standard 9mm quick release skewer.
    • 15mm thru type axle.
    • A plain front fork for standard nut type axle is compatible.
    • Not compatible with: 20mm thru axle for downhill bikes.
  • Hub Width Compatibility:
    • The Fork Mount in the kit is for standard 100mm width hubs only.
    • Boost Hub and 12mm Thru Axle can be used with an optional adapter (sold separately).
  • Quick Release Skewer: A specially designed quick release skewer is supplied for VERGO-TF, enabling a much wider cam action for quick engagement/release without constant nut adjustment, which is particularly useful for wider dropouts and safety tabs.
  • Fork Mount Adjustability:
    • The white Fork Mount is angle adjustable in 2 positions leftward and 3 positions rightward, in increments of 15 degrees. This feature helps maximize cargo space by allowing the handlebar to be twisted.
    • The Fork Mount can also slide along the Rail Bar to change its position.

Usage Features:

  • Assembly and Initial Setup: The VERGO-TF comes pre-assembled. The initial step involves setting the twisted center white Fork Mount to its correct upright position. This is done by loosening the red Knob Dial, rotating the Fork Mount until its projections align with the holes, and then tightening the Knob Dial to lock it.
  • Bike Installation:
    1. Remove the front wheel from the bike.
    2. Open the quick release skewer lever to create enough clearance.
    3. Gently place the front fork onto the skewer axle, ensuring it is properly seated without interference from any projections on the fork bottom.
    4. Tighten the skewer by closing the lever. The correct tension is achieved when you feel some resistance as the lever reaches approximately 45 degrees after passing the parallel position. If the skewer is too loose or too tight, adjust the nut before closing the lever.
  • Axle Type Conversion (9mm QR to 15mm Thru Axle):
    • For 9mm Quick Release Type Skewer: Use the supplied quick release skewer.
    • For 15mm Thru Type Axle: Remove the supplied skewer, headless bolts (using a 3mm hex wrench), the red adapter, and the silver sleeve. You will use your own 15mm thru type axle. It is crucial to remove all parts (skewer, sleeve, adapter, and bolts) as leaving bolts in the holes will obstruct the 15mm axle and may cause vibration. Keep all removed parts together.
  • Re-installation of 9mm QR Components: When re-installing the adapter and sleeve for 9mm QR use, ensure the red 15mm Thru Axle Adapter aligns with the headless bolt, and the silver Quick Skewer Guide Sleeve is set symmetrically within the adapter (equal length visible on both sides). Failure to do so may prevent the front fork from holding properly.
  • Fork Mount Position Adjustment: The Fork Mount can be slid along the Rail Bar by loosening the red Knob Dial, repositioning the mount, and then tightening the Knob Dial to secure it.
  • End Base Removal/Installation: The End Base can be easily removed by loosening the Knob Bolt on the bottom. For installation, push up the Knob Bolt to lift the T-slot Nut, creating clearance between the Rail Bar.
  • Safety Recommendations:
    • Drive carefully when transporting bikes. Avoid reckless acceleration, braking, or driving, as bikes and the vehicle may sustain damage. Tying down bikes with a strap is recommended.
    • When closing the back gate door, ensure the bike does not hit the rear window.
    • If your bike has hydraulic disc brakes, do not grasp the brake lever after removing the wheel, as this can make it difficult to open stuck brake pads.
    • Be aware that turning the handlebar when mounted can cause the bike to lean or tilt, potentially affecting stability.
    • The optional "VERGO-TF-Stand" cannot be used with the TF-1 due to its shorter Rail Bar length.

Maintenance Features:

  • The manual emphasizes keeping all removed parts (skewer, sleeve, adapter, bolts) together when converting between axle types to prevent loss and ensure proper re-installation.
  • When re-installing the gray Fork Mount Base in a different position on the Rail Bar, ensure the Plate Nut is correctly positioned in the rail groove, and the red Knob Dial's bolt is tightened into the larger center thread hole on the Plate Nut.
  • For any questions or help, contact the dealer or Minoura distributor first. Direct contact with Minoura is advised only if local service is unavailable.
