Usage Features:
The air conditioner offers several user-friendly features:
- Remote Control: A comprehensive remote controller allows for easy adjustment of all settings. It has buttons for operation display, temperature adjustment, ON/OFF, fan speed, swing, manual swing, operation mode, time off, time on, time cancel, time set, and sleep.
- Emergency Operation Switch: In case the remote controller is faulty, a manual operation switch located under the top cover of the indoor unit can be used. This switch cycles through COOL → HEAT → STOP.
- Operation Modes:
- COOL Mode: Adjusts temperature and fan speed for cooling.
- DRY Mode: Reduces humidity.
- FAN Mode: Circulates air without cooling or heating.
- HEAT Mode: Adjusts temperature and fan speed for heating.
- AUTO Mode: Automatically selects COOL, DRY, or HEAT based on room temperature.
- Timer Operation (12 Hour): Users can set the unit to turn ON or OFF at a desired time.
- Air Flow Direction Adjustment: The remote control allows for changing the up/down air flow direction. The left/right air flow can be manually adjusted.
- Economical Operation Hints:
- Clean air filter regularly (every two weeks).
- Avoid opening doors and windows unnecessarily during operation.
- Close curtains to prevent heat loss/gain.
- Use the timer effectively.
- Adjust air flow direction for uniform room air circulation.
- Important Safeguards: The manual emphasizes safety precautions such as proper electrical connection (240V outlet only), avoiding use by unsupervised children, unplugging before cleaning, and not attempting repairs.
Maintenance Features:
Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of the air conditioner.
- Cleaning the Indoor Unit and Remote Controller:
- Use a dry cloth for general cleaning.
- A dampened cloth with cold water can be used for very dirty indoor units.
- Avoid chemically-treated dusters, benzine, thinners, polishing powder, or similar solvents as they can damage plastic surfaces.
- Filter Cleaning:
- Air Filters: Should be cleaned once every two weeks. Remove filters, clean with a vacuum cleaner or by tapping gently. If very dirty, wash in warm water (below 45°C) with a non-scouring agent, rinse with clean water, and dry in cool air before re-inserting.
- Deodorization Filters and Air Cleaner: Remove these filters after the main air filters. Clean with warm water (below 45°C) with a non-scouring agent, rinse, and dry in cool air before re-inserting.
- Pre-Operation Check: Before starting the unit after a period of non-use, check that wiring is intact, air filter is installed, and outdoor unit air outlet/inlet is not blocked.
- Long-Term Storage: If the unit will not be used for at least a month, operate the fan only for about half a day to dry the inside, then stop the unit, disconnect power, and remove batteries from the remote controller.
The manual also includes detailed installation instructions covering securing the mounting plate, drilling wall holes, connecting indoor unit wiring, connecting pipe work, discharging air, adding refrigerant, and testing. It advises on proper pipe routing and sealing wall holes. A 5-year in-home warranty is provided, subject to conditions such as proper installation by a qualified tradesman and use according to manufacturer's instructions.
