What to do if my Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioner is freezing/overheating?
- MMichael BushAug 2, 2025
If your Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioner is freezing or overheating (in cooling or drying mode), the following could be the cause: a clogged filter restricting airflow, a short cycle of the air path, low-load operation beyond the tolerance range. There may also be a defective indoor fan motor or outdoor fan control, overcharged refrigerant, or clogs in the refrigerant circuit. Check for filter clogs and remove any shields. If necessary, measure the resistance of the fan motor's winding and the output voltage of the fan's connector on the indoor controller board, which should be normal when AC 220~240V is detected while the fan motor is connected. Also, check the outdoor fan motor and the operating condition of the refrigerant circuit.
