2. Check whether the indicator lamp illumi-
nates or not.
• When the indicator lamp does not illumi-
nate
Automatic transmission vehicles: While holding
down the brake pedal, turn the starter switch to
the “START” position to start the engine.
Manual transmission vehicles: While holding
down the clutch pedal , turn the starter switch
to the “START” position to start the engine.
• When the indicator lamp illuminates
Wait until the indicator lamp goes out;
Automatic transmission vehicles: While holding
down the brake pedal, turn the starter switch to
the “START” position to start the engine.
Manual transmission vehicles: While holding
down the clutch pedal , turn the starter switch
to the “START” position to start the engine.
NOTE:
<FE84, FE85, FG>
If the engine is difficult to start after the indicator
lamp has gone out, the fuse of the preheating circuit
may be blown out. Check the fuse if this happens.

If the engine is difficult to start and the lamp is
illuminated, the preheating circuit is faulty.
Have the circuit repaired by the nearest authorized
dealer.
