Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning Inside: Use a solution of warm water and baking soda (1 tablespoon per quart of water) to clean and neutralize odors. Thoroughly rinse and wipe dry. Avoid cleaning glass shelves with warm water when cold to prevent breakage. Do not wash plastic parts in a dishwasher.
- Cleaning LED Lighted Shelves: If removed for cleaning, protect the probes at the back and do not immerse shelves in water.
- Cleaning Outside: Wipe with a clean cloth dampened with mild liquid dish detergent. Dry with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners, scouring pads, powdered cleaners, or bleach-containing products as they can damage the finish.
- Stainless Steel Care: Clean with a soft, clean cloth or sponge and mild detergent mixed with warm water. Approved stainless steel cleaners (available at monogram.com or monogram.ca) can be used. Cleaners with oxalic acid (e.g., Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser™) can remove surface rust, tarnish, and small blemishes. Avoid contact with plastic parts.
- Water Filter Replacement: Replace every six months or after dispensing 170 gallons, or when water flow decreases. The control panel will display "ORDER WATER FILTER" at 90% life and "WATER FILTER EXPIRED" at 100% life. Instructions for removal and installation are provided, including the use of a filter removal tool. A filter bypass plug must be used if a replacement cartridge is unavailable.
- Odor and Freshness Filter Replacement: Replace every six months or when odors become objectionable. The main control will flash "ORDER AIR FILTER(S)" at 90% life and "AIR FILTER(S) EXPIRED" at 100% life. Instructions for removal and installation are provided.
- Light Bulb Replacement: For LED light replacement, refer to monogram.com (US) or monogram.ca (Canada).
- Vacation Preparation: For long vacations, turn off the icemaker, shut off the water supply, remove food, set controls to OFF, and clean the interior with a baking soda solution, leaving doors and drawers open. For shorter vacations, remove perishable foods and leave controls at regular settings, unless room temperature is expected to drop below 60°F (16°C), in which case follow long vacation instructions.
- Installation: Must be properly installed and located according to installation instructions. Requires a grounded 3-prong outlet. Do not use extension cords or adapters. The appliance is top-heavy and must be secured with an anti-tip system.
- Flammable Refrigerant (R600a): Handle with care to avoid damaging refrigerant tubing. Service must be performed by authorized personnel using manufacturer-authorized parts. Dispose of the refrigerator according to federal and local regulations due to flammable refrigerant and insulation material. Keep ventilation openings clear. Use plastic or wood spatulas for frost removal; avoid sharp metal instruments. Do not use electrical appliances inside food storage compartments or for defrosting.
- General Safety: Unplug before repairs or cleaning. Replace all parts and panels before operating. Keep flammable materials and vapors away. Do not store explosive substances. Remove doors before disposing of the appliance to prevent child suffocation/entrapment. Children should not stand on or play with the appliance. Children and persons with reduced capabilities should only use the appliance under supervision and with proper instructions. Connect to potable water supply only. Do not apply harsh cleaners to the refrigerator. Avoid touching cold freezer surfaces with damp hands. Do not refreeze thawed foods. Avoid contact with moving parts of the icemaker.
- Disposal: Remove fresh food and freezer doors and leave shelves in place to prevent child entrapment.
