DRIVE-ASSIST SYSTEM
Rechargeable Battery
Your Montague e-bike is equipped with
a rechargeable lithium ion battery. Please
follow the below guidelines for battery
longevity and safe operation.
Even if all safety precautions are
observed, the rechargeable battery can
still become dangerous, such as if it
catches re.
In an emergency, make sure that
your actions do not put you or other
people in danger at any time. Read
these instructions so that you can be
focused and prepared when reacting to
an emergency. Refer to and follow the
enclosed system manuals.
• Only operate the battery between the
temperature range of 14◦F (-10◦C)
and + 122◦ F (+50◦C).
• Only use the original battery included
with your Montague e-bike. Do not
use the included battery with any
other bicycle, or any other battery
with your Montague e-bike, even if it
ts.
• Always turn the e-bike’s drive-assist
system o󰀨 before connecting or dis-
connecting the battery.’
• Do not modify, open or disassemble
the battery or charger. Modication
or disassembly may result in a short
circuit, re or malfunction and will
void your warranty.
• The battery is heavy. Be careful
when handling it and do not drop it.
• Do not allow any nails, screws or
other small, sharp and/or metallic
objects to come in contact with the
battery or the battery’s charging
socket.
• Do not allow the battery to overheat.
Protect the battery from excessive
sun exposure.
• Do not expose the battery to open
re or radiator heat.
• Do not submerge the battery in
water.
• Keep the battery away from metal
objects such as paper clips, coins,
nails, screws or keys that can cause
a short-circuit.
Failure to follow the instructions in
this section may result in damage to
electrical components on your e-bike
and will void your warranty, but most
importantly, may result in serious per-
sonal injury or death. If your battery or
charger exhibits any signs of damage,
do not use it and immediately bring it
to an authorized retailer for inspection.
