HYSOL MIXTURE
APPLY HYSOL TO ALUMINUM PATCH

8. Apply patch to inner surface of shell and cleco into
place. Remove excess Hysol evenly around patch and
surface of shell. Allow Hysol to cure for 24 to 48 hours.
Rivet the aluminum in place using AVEX 1604- 0412
rivets or equivalent. Flush head is to be on the finished
surface side. The number of rivets and spacing will be
determined by the size of the repair. See Figures 20- 8
and 20- 9.

9. Coat the outer portion of the patch and the sanded
area of shell with Resin Mix 1. Be sure the mixture does
not run. See Figure 20- 10.

10. Cut four fiberglass plies to match the shape of the
aluminum patch, beginning with the first ply, which
should extend past the damaged portion by ½”from
perimeter on all sides. Each subsequent ply should ex-
ceed the previous ply by ½” on all sides. See Figure
20- 11.
