Connecting SDT: Confirm all seat positions to be tested
are unbuckled. Remove the Diagnostic Connector’s
protective cap (if applicable) located on the Interface
Cable Assembly and connect the V23 SDT connector
to the diagnostic connector.

2. Connect SDT to Diagnostic Con-
nector on Cable Interface Assy.
Turn SDT ON/OFF switch to ON.

All three SEAT LEDs will illumi-
nate; amber for a “pass”
condition and green, red, or no illu-
mination for a “fail” condition.
Check all connections, especially
Cable Interface Assembly. Replace
EMA, Inflator, and Cable Interface
Assy. Retest after replacing each
part until a “pass” condition is met.
3. Buckle seatbelt.
S Single SEAT LED is green,
go to Step 4.
A single SEAT LED will illuminate
green for a “pass” condition. Other
SEAT LEDs will extinguish. All am-
ber illumination, or all extinguished,
or red illumination is a “fail” condi-
tion.
Replace associated End- Release
Buckle Assy, EMA, Inflator, and
Cable Interface Assembly. Retest
after replacing each part until a
green SEAT LED illuminates.
4. Unbuckle seatbelt.
5. Repeat Step 3 for next seat
position.
6. Unbuckle seatbelt. Turn SDT
ON/OFF switch to OFF. If finished
testing all seat positions in aircraft,
replace the diagnostic protective
cap or cover. Otherwise, start at
Step 2 for next seat test.
AAIR System testing complete.
-NOTE-
It is required, after completion of functional test-
ing, to document t his task as an entry in the
aircraft’s logbook.
Post- Incident Aircraft Documentation Process
The documentation process for the repair facility is as
follows (see Appendix A for Inspection Checklist):
1. The repair facility will do a complete inspection of the
aircraft as defined by AmSafe maintenance documen-
tation.
2. Any discrepancies will be noted and the work order
line items will be defined for completion of the
aircraft repair.
3. All maintenance/repairs must be accomplished per
FAA AC 43.13b.
4. Once maintenance/repair is completed and the work
order is closed, manufacturer checklist/maintenance
documentation is filed with the closed Work Order and
must be kept on file for a period of three (3) years.
5. An entry is required to be made in the aircraft logbook
stating that the maintenance action for specific items/
systems was performed “per AmSafe Supplemental In-
structions for Continued Airworthiness, Document No.
E508923, Section - Maintenance and Inspection”.
