53-50-02 - EMPENNAGE ATTACH FITTINGS
The empennage assembly is manufactured as a unit,
(refer to Figures 53- 6, 53- 7) with vertical fin and hori-
zontal stabilizer using common components. This unit
attaches to tailcone empennage attach points, using
two structural bolts, bushings and nuts passing through
two top hinges. The bottom attach point on empennage
assembly secures stabilizer trim jack screw. Lateral
stability of empennage assembly is controlled with an
articulated hinge assembly attached to rear bulkhead
of tailcone. The hinge attach pin is held in place with a
cotter pin at each end.
