71-30-00 - FIRESEALS
Firewall fireseals and grommets, if removed and re-
placed for any reason, should be re- sealed after rout-
ing cable(s) or wire assembly(ies) from engine
compartment into cockpit area. After installation, cover
cable or wire and grommet underneath fireseal with
Coast, Pro- Seal 700 (or equivalent) on engine side of
firewall.
71-60-00 - AIR INTAKES
The engine cooling air intakes and exits are calculated
for optimum cooling requirements and minimum drag.
Normal engine operating temperatures are at optimum
to facilitate engine efficiency.
The engine induction air intake is a fiberglass duct that
picks up impact air and routes it through rechargeable
air filter to engine.
71-60-01 - AIR FILTER
The engine induction air filter is a rechargeable air filter
made by Challenger Aviation Products (Figure 71- 7).
The Challenger’s recharging instructions must be fol-
lowed carefully for maximum air filter life. Air filter must
be recharged every 100 hours or 12 months or sooner if
