This document is a user manual for the Morgan Portable Air Conditioner, model MAC-093 LITE. It provides comprehensive information on the device's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.
Function Description:
The Morgan MAC-093 LITE is a portable air conditioner designed for household use. Its primary function is to cool indoor spaces, but it also offers fan and dry (dehumidification) modes. The unit is equipped with a self-evaporative system that helps improve performance and save energy by reusing condensed water to cool the condenser. It features a control panel and a remote control for convenient operation, allowing users to adjust temperature, fan speed, and set timers. The air conditioner is designed to be placed vertically on a stable surface, preferably near a window, for proper ventilation and exhaust.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Model No.: MAC-093 LITE
- Rated Voltage: 220-240V~
- Frequency: 50Hz
- Cooling Capacity: 2600W
- Cooling Power: 1100W
- Refrigerant: R410A/410G
- Exhaust Duct Length: Maximum developed length is 1,500mm (recommended to shorten and keep horizontal during installation).
Usage Features:
- Control Panel & Remote Control: The unit can be operated via a control panel located on the device or a remote control. Both include buttons for power, fan speed, temperature/time adjustment, mode selection (cooling, heat, fan, dry), timer, sleep mode, temperature unit switch (°C/°F), and swing function for the louver.
- Modes of Operation:
- Cooling Mode: The cooling indicator lights up. Temperature can be set from 16°C to 30°C. Fan speed can be selected between low and high.
- Fan Mode: The fan indicator lights up. Fan speed can be set to low or high. Temperature cannot be set in this mode.
- Dry Mode: The dry indicator lights up. To use this mode, the water plug must be removed, and a pipe inserted into the drainage hose, with the other end leading to a water tank. The compressor will operate based on ambient temperature (starts if ≥17°C/62°F, stops if ≤15°C/59°F, with a 3-minute delay for compressor protection). The fan runs at a fixed low speed, and temperature is fixed. It is noted that the air exhaust duct should be dismantled in dry mode, or performance will be affected, and the "FL" (water full) alarm will sound.
- Timer Mode: Allows setting ON time in standby mode and OFF time in ON mode, with a range of 0 to 24 hours.
- Sleep Mode: Activates a sleep function.
- Swing Function: The louver swings continuously left and right when activated, and can be stopped at a desired position.
- Placement: The appliance should be placed on a flat, sturdy floor, preferably near a window. A minimum clearance of 50cm from surrounding objects is required for unobstructed air ventilation.
- Installation: Involves assembling the exhaust duct and window sealing plate. The exhaust pipe assembly is swirled into the rear panel outlet counterclockwise. The window sealing plate can be adjusted to fit the window size and fixed with screws or toggles.
- Remote Control Batteries: Requires 2 new AAA batteries. Non-rechargeable, non-mixed (old and new), and non-leaked batteries should be used. Batteries should be removed if the appliance is not used for a long time.
Maintenance Features:
- Drainage: The unit will display "FL" and buzz when the built-in water container is full. To drain, unplug the unit, dismantle the air exhaust duct, move the appliance, detach the water plug from the drainage outlet, and drain all water. Then, re-insert the water plug and re-install the exhaust duct.
- Cleaning the Exterior: Always power off and disconnect from the power supply before cleaning. Use a soft, moist cloth. Avoid chemical cleansers (benzene, alcohol, gasoline) as they can damage the finish. Do not splash water on inner parts.
- Cleaning the Filter: The filter should be cleaned once every two weeks, or more frequently if indoor air quality is poor. To clean, detach the air-inlet grille, wash the filter in 40°C warm water or water with neutral detergent, and dry it in a cool place. Reinstall the filter and grille. Do not wash in hot water above 40°C, use abrasive solvents, or operate without the filter installed. If slightly dirty, a vacuum cleaner can be used.
- Periodic Maintenance (for long-term storage):
- Drain any remaining water.
- Run in Fan mode for at least 2 hours to dry internal parts.
- Power off and disconnect from the power supply.
- Clean and reinstall the filter.
- Dismantle the air exhaust duct and store it in a cool place.
- Remove batteries from the remote control.
- Wrap the unit in a plastic bag and store it in a dry and cool place.
- Re-operation After Long Storage: Ensure water plug and filter are installed, inspect power cord and plug, insert batteries into the remote control, and assemble other parts according to the manual.
Safety Precautions and Warnings:
The manual emphasizes several safety precautions, including:
- Only qualified technicians should dismantle or repair the unit.
- Do not overload power sockets.
- Keep the unit away from heat sources or direct sunlight.
- Do not operate with a damaged power cord or plug.
- Ensure correct voltage and use a properly earthed power supply.
- Do not modify or extend the power cord.
- Never insert fingers or objects into the louvers.
- Keep electrical parts away from water.
- Power off and unplug before cleaning or replacing components.
- Do not place heavy objects on the power cord.
- If water enters electrical parts, power off and unplug immediately, then contact service.
- In case of gas leakage, ventilate the room before connecting the unit to power supply.
- This unit can be used by children aged 8 and above and persons with reduced capabilities under supervision and instruction.
- Do not spray petroleum-based solvents directly on the unit.
- Do not drink condensed water discharged from the machine.
- In dry mode, the air exhaust duct should be dismantled.
Common Errors & Diagnosis:
The manual lists error codes (E1 for coil temperature sensor error, E2 for indoor temperature sensor error, E4 for anti-freezing protection) and troubleshooting steps for common issues like the aircon not functioning, starting frequently, noisy operation, or compressor not functioning. Users are advised to power off the appliance and contact an authorized service agent if problems persist after troubleshooting.
