MorphoAccess® SIGMA Series
Simplified Setup Reference
NOTE: Please be sure to complete Steps 1-3 BEFORE connecting your MorphoAccess® SIGMA
Series terminals
STEP 1 | GET GROUNDED. Ensure the person performing the install is grounded in order to
prevent ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) damage to the SIGMA series terminal.
STEP 2 | SHUT-OFF THE POWER. Do NOT proceed with installation until electrical power has
been switched-off.
STEP 3 | CHECK THE WIRES. Identify the +12V and GND wires in two places: (1) Electrical power
source, and (2) SIGMA series terminal.
NOTE: Inversion of the +12V and GND wire will damage the product.
HOW TO IDENTIFY THE +12V AND GND CONNECTIONS ON SIGMA SERIES TERMINAL:

Summary

Initial Setup and Safety Precautions

Get Grounded

Ensure the person performing the install is grounded to prevent ESD damage to the SIGMA terminal.

Shut Off Power

Do NOT proceed with installation until electrical power has been switched-off.

Check Wires

Identify the +12V and GND wires from the power source and SIGMA terminal. Inversion will damage the product.

Install Coin Battery

Install CR1225 Battery

Slide the CR1225 V3 Li-lon coin battery, positive side up, into the slot above the micro USB port.

Powering the SIGMA Terminal

Choose Power Source

Select either External 12V or Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), but not both simultaneously.

Connect External Power

Use 12-24 Volts (regulated) 1 Amp supply compliant with CEE/EEC EN60950.

Connect PoE Power

Install the PoE Board and connect the PoE cable to the RJ45 jack.

PoE Board Installation Steps

Position PoE Board

Position the PoE Board with pins pointing down, facing the µSD slot and RJ45 port.

Insert PoE Pins

Insert the PoE pins on the board into the SIGMA terminal's PoE connectors.

Secure PoE Connections

Gently push the PoE board down to secure the connections between the PoE Pins and PoE connectors.

Initial Configuration

Set Storage Type to Permanent

Change the First Boot Configuration Storage Type to Permanent and prepare for reboot.

Navigate Storage Type Menu

Access the 'First Boot Configuration Storage Type' setting within the First Boot Assistant.

Select Permanent Setting

Choose 'Permanent' and press the check mark to confirm changes.

Reboot Terminal

Press the check mark to reboot the terminal, finalizing the permanent storage configuration.
