32 Using the answering machine
9. Using the answering machine
The phone can digitally record up to 12 minutes of messages. As well as recording
incoming messages, it can record memos for other users.
The answering machine can be operated from:
the base
the handset
remotely, from any other DTMF telephone, see page 34.
9.1 Switch the answering machine on / o
Via the base
1. Press on the base to turn the answering machine on or o.
Via the handset
2. Press m, scroll u or d to
ANSW MACHINE
and press m.
3. Scroll d to
ANSWER MODE
and press m.
4. Press u or d to select either
ANSWER ONLY,
RECORD ALSO
or
OFF
and press m
to conrm.
9.2 Listening to your messages
Using the base:
1. If there are new messages, press P and only they will be played.
Press and hold P to play all messages.
2. If there are no new messages, press P all messages will be played.
During playback:
Press
S
to stop message playback.
Press
>
to play the next message.
Press
<
to play the previous message.
Press
X
to delete the current message.
NOTE
When in standby press and hold X for 2 seconds to delete all old messages.
Using the handset:
1. If there is a new message press m and the new message will be played.
2. If there is no new message press m, scroll d to
ANSW MACHINE
and press m.
3.
PLAY
is displayed, press m.
4. The display shows the number of the message being played and the date and time the
message was left will toggle on the screen.
