34 Using the answering machine
9.6.3 Record, play or delete your own outgoing message
1. Press m, scroll d to
ANSW MACHINE
and press m.
2. Scroll d to
OGM SETTING
and press m.
3. Press u or dto select either
ANSWER ONLY
or
RECORD ALSO
and press m.
4. Scroll u or d to select either
PLAY
,
RECORD
or
USE DEFAULT
and press m.
If you select
PLAY
the current OGM will play back.
If you select
RECORD
once you hear the beep speak your message into the handset, to
end recording press m. The OGM will play back.
If you selected
USE DEFAULT
the display shows
CONFIRM?
, press m to conrm.
9.6.4 Select the OGM
1. Press m, scroll d to
ANSW MACHINE
and press m.
2. Scroll d to
ANSWER MODE
and press m.
3. Press u or d to select either
ANSWER ONLY
or
RECORD ALSO
and press m to
conrm.
NOTE
If the answering machine is turned o and then turned on via the base unit the settings will
be the same as when it was last switched on.
9.7 Ring delay
Select the duration of rings before your answer machine picks up the call. Choose from 3-8
Rings or Toll Saver.
When set to Toll Saver, if you have new messages your phone answers after 3 Rings.
If there are no new messages it will answer after 5 Rings. So you have the option to
hang up, saving the time and cost of a call.
If the memory is full, it will automatically revert to Answer Only mode.
1. Press m, scroll d to
ANSW MACHINE
and press m.
2. Scroll d to
RING DELAY
and press m. The handset will display the current setting.
3. Use u or d to select the number of rings required and press m to conrm.
9.8 Remote access
You can operate your answering machine from any DTMF phone by calling your product
and entering a 4 digit security PIN code.
1. Dial your telephone number. When you hear your outgoing message, press #.
2. Enter your 4-digit PIN (default setting 0000) you will hear a conrmation beep. Use the
keypad to operate the answering machine.
