  If the filter basket of your Mr. Coffee Coffee Maker is overflowing, it could be due to several reasons: the filter basket might not be properly inserted (insert the filter basket correctly); the decanter might not be placed all the way on the warming plate (place the decanter correctly on the warming plate); the decanter lid is not on the decanter (place the lid on the decanter); too many coffee grounds were placed in the filter (remove filter, discard grounds, replace if paper filter, rinse if permanent filter, and begin brewing process again); or the decanter was removed from the warming plate for more than 20 seconds (turn off and unplug the unit, allow to cool, wipe up the spill, and do not set the hot decanter back on the wet warming plate or it might crack).
