The followng table lsts the dsk requrements for a new RAID array for varous mgrat

ng combnatons.
From To New Array Dsk Requrements
RAID 0 RAID 0 m > n
Number of dsk n the new array must be greater than the orgnal array.
RAID 1 m = 2, n = 1
RAID 1 array must nclude two dsks, converted from a one dsk RAID 0 array.
RAID 0+1 m >= 2 x n
Number of RAID 0+1 dsks must be equal to or greater than twce the number
of RAID 0 dsks.
RAID 5 m >= n+1
RAID 1 RAID 0 No addtonal restrctons.
RAID 1 ** Not a vald combnaton **
RAID 0+1 No addtonal restrctons.
RAID 5 m >= 3
RAID 0+1 RAID 0 m >= n2
Number of RAID 0 dsks must be equal to or greater than half the number of
RAID 0+1 dsks.
RAID 1 ** Not a vald combnaton **
RAID 0+1 ** Not a vald combnaton **
RAID 5 m >= (n/2 + 1)
RAID 5 RAID 0 m >= n - 1
