heavysideuntilitbalancesevenly.
8. Beforereassemblingthe bladeandthe bladeadapter
totheunit,lubricatetheenginecrankshaftandthe
innersurfaceof the bladeadapterwithlightoil.
9. installthe bladeadapteron thecrankshaftwiththe
"star"awayfromthe engine.SeeFigure11.Place
thebladewiththesidemarked"bottom"(orwithpart
number)facingawayfromthe adapter.Alignthe
bladebellsupportoverthebladewiththetabsinthe
holesofthebladeand insertthehexbolt.

Toinsuresafeoperationofyourunit,ALLnutsandbolts
mustbecheckedperiodicallyforcorrecttightness.
1. Therearflapisattachedtothebackofthemower
deck,and is designedto minimizethepossibilitythat
objectswillbethrownfromtherearofthemower
towardtheoperator.If the rearflap becomesdam-
aged,replaceas follows.
2. To removethe oldrearflap,cutoffthe flat endof the
wirerodwhichsecuresittothedeckusinga pairof
side-cutters.Attachthenewrearflapusingthenew
rodprovidedwiththe rearflap,bendingthe ends of
therodoverto secure.
Off-Season Storage
Thefollowingstepsshouldbetakento prepareyourlawn
mowerforstorage.
1. Cleanandlubricatemowerthoroughlyas describedin
thelubricationinstructions.
2. Wedo not recommendthe useof a pressurewasher
or gardenhoseto cleanyour unit.
3. Refertoenginemanualfor correctengine
storageinstructions.
4. Coatmower'scuttingbladewithchassisgreaseto
preventrusting.
5. Storemowerin adry,cleanarea. Do notstorenextto
corrosivematerials,suchas fertilizer.
NOTE:Whenstoringanytypeofpowerequipmentin
a poorlyventilatedor metalstorageshed,careshould
betakentorust-proofthe equipment.Usinga light oilor
silicone,coattheequipment,especiallycablesandall
movingpartsofyourlawnmowerbeforestorage.
