ofthemower.See Figure8. The bladecontrolhandle
mustbedepressedinordertooperatethe unit.Release
thebladecontrolhandleto stoptheengineand blade.
Recoil Starter
Therecoilstarteris attachedto the rightupperhandle.
Standbehindtheunitand pullthe recoilstarterropeto
startthe unit.
Cutting Height Adjustment Levers

Oneadjustmentleverislocatedon eachwheelandis
usedtoadjustthecuttingheight.All fourlevershaveto
beatthesamerelativepositiontoensureuniformcut.
Before Starting
1. Servicetheenginewithgasolineandoil as instructed
in theseparateenginemanual.
2. Attachsparkplugwireto sparkplug. If unitis
equippedwitha rubberbootovertheend ofthespark
plugwire,makecertainthemetalloopon theend of
thesparkplugwire(insidetherubberboot)isfastened
securelyoverthe metaltip on the sparkplug.
To Start Engine
1. If yourunitisequippedwitha primer,primeengineas
instructedin the separateenginemanualpackedwith
yourunit.
2. Standingbehindthe unit,depressthe bladecontrol
handleandholditagainsttheupperhandleasshown
in Figure9.
3. Graspthestarterhandleas shownandpullslowly
untilresistanceis felt,thenpullrapidlyto startengine
andavoidkickback.Returnit slowlyto the ropeguide.
